Mural Project

Celebrate Silas 2018, in collaboration with local artist, Max Collins, brings you one more way to honor and share the memory of your loved one.  You are invited to make a (2′ X 3′) mural based on a photograph of your loved one.  Murals will be displayed at Duniway Elementary School during Celebrate Silas and you will be invited to bring your mural home following the event.

How to Participate:

  1. Email Jodie at  or call (503.888.2377) to sign up to attend one of the workshops listed below.  I will send you a link to the Sign Up Genius page to select a one hour time window to complete your mural.
  2. Email Jodie at with an electronic copy of the photograph you wish to use for the mural project.
  3. At the time you signed up for, show up at the The Dougy Center Portland location (3903 SE 52nd Ave) to make your mural.  The process should take about an hour and all materials will be supplied.
  4. Max will bring a GIANT (2′ X 3′), black and white, copy of your photograph to The Dougy Center for you to use for your mural.  The process involves using wall paper glue to adhere your photograph to a plywood backing.  You are welcome to add color to your photograph using crayon or colored pencils.  It is very fun and easy to do!  Great for kids and adults!
